A lot of artists have publicized their disagreements with others copying their artwork, using someone else's ideas as inspiration for their own artwork, outright stealing someone's artwork, and now tracing their artwork (new DA policy -

I'm just curious what everyone's take is on the above, as far as, what the differences are between all of those things and where the line can be drawn? I personally, don't like it when people make copies of my artwork and post it elsewhere (whether it be edited, non-edited, traced, etc) without my permission. As far as inspiration goes, I don't mind if someone takes an idea I had and runs off with it and puts their own spin to it. But, everyone seems to have different ideas as to what the differences are between copying, being inspired by, stealing, and tracing. There is so much grey area it's hard to firstly, define what the differences are, let alone come up with a system that could police it. I read a lot of journals and comments about people being upset about this sort of thing, but few ever mention what they feel the differences are or what they think could be changed about current policy to help police it better. I'm just curious to hear where people stand on this.
