This was a Rhythm project for one of my courses. We had to choose a visual icon that is easily recognizable by many and incoorporate it into a rhythmic design while including something from a magazine(s). I choose the sun and the moon for a few reasons:

The sun (orange) and the moon (blue) contrast each other in color, emotion, action, value, and more. The moon is male, has his eyes closed, and is crying; while the sun is female, her eyes are open, and she is happy. The rhythms that surround each one is different. The moons is circles placed around him in a more neatly put fashion while the sun has more of a messy jumble of waves and colors around her. The magazine pictures that I included were butterflies going around the sun (representing day) while the moon had bats going around it (representing night).

Materials used are pastels, ink, a few bits of magazine cut outs (for the butterflies), and some blue construction paper (for the bats). Enjoy
